AALA and International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association hosting seminar

Dear AALASC Members:

We are pleased to announce that the Arab American Lawyers Association of Southern California (www.aalasc.org ) is joining the International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (www.lacba.org ), in organizing an employment law seminar on November 5, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at the LACBA Conference Center in downtown Los Angeles. Breakfast to be served at 8:30 a.m. The topics include the extraterritorial application and extension of US Laws and enforcement of US laws in foreign jurisdictions in the context of employment law. Please expect a lively discussion about the way foreign law is dealt with in the Middle East and how it may or may not conflict with the local laws and customs.

AALASC has facilitated the inclusion of Sally El-Shalakanay, an Egyptian attorney from the Shalakany Law Office and Natalie Morrison of Al Hadef & Partners from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
